Overview
The Monastery of Saint Anthony and the Monastery of Saint Paul are the oldest monasteries in Christianity. Please note that we offer private tours and that prices depend on the number of participants in your booking. Small groups are available subject to availability.
We will pick you up from your hotel around 4:00 a.m. Depending on your hotel's location and the progress of the program, the pickup time may vary. You will travel for approximately two hours in a luxurious air-conditioned vehicle. Before reaching the Monastery of Saint Anthony, you will cross the heart of the desert.
More than 1600 years ago, the hermit Anthony lived here in a cave on a mountain 680 meters high. A staircase of approximately 1200 steps will lead you to the cave.
There, you will be able to admire Anthony's ancient writings and drawings and enjoy the fantastic views of the surrounding mountains, the desert and the sea.
Next, we will continue our journey through the wild valley to the Monastery of Saint Paul. This monastery was built above the cave of Saint Paul, a Christian hermit who died in the 4th century AD.
After this visit, we will head to a restaurant for lunch.
After lunch, we will return to Hurghada.

Visit to the Monastery of Saint Anthony : climb up the 680-meter mountain, 1200 steps to the cave where the hermit Anthony lived. Observation of ancient writings, frescoes, the miraculous water's source and drawings and panoramic views of the desert and mountains.
