The temples of Ramesses II and Nefertari, carved into the mountain on the shores of Lake Nasser.
We leave before dawn and cross the Nubian Desert to reach Abu Simbel early in the morning. Your guide tells you the story of Ramesses II, the Battle of Kadesh and the spectacular UNESCO rescue of the temples.
You discover the Great Temple and its four 20-metre colossi, then the Small Temple dedicated to Queen Nefertari and the goddess Hathor.
