Luxor

The world’s greatest open-air museum

Ancient Thebes was the capital of Egypt at the height of its power. On the east bank stand the giant columns of Karnak and Luxor Temple; on the west bank lie the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon.

Luxor is best discovered at sunrise, when the light turns the temples golden and the sites are still quiet.
